Vitra hopes to develop its share of the domestic furnishing market by appealing to the young urban professional: cash rich, but space poor.

Tess is a coffee table with the ability to provide low seating for up to four users. Two futon mats are stored within the table and can be removed when needed to provide extra seating. After use they are returned to within the table to reduce the floor space the product occupies. At night Tess can also provide a comfortable alternative to sleeping on sofas or on the floor for up to two users.
